Sometimes I
reckon barter system was a convenient way of trading. Yeah, you got it right!
The same barter system which you must have come across during your schooling.
The farmers used to exchange 10 Kg rice for 5 Kg Wheat or something similar…
Did
anything ring in your mind? Have you ever thought of it? It just struck me
while I wanted to buy a musical instrument (I love music and everything related
to it) and was falling short of money. I began to imagine, if I wanted to buy
this keyboard, why can’t I exchange something that I already have. Rather than
collecting my pocket money and pinching my stomach, why can’t I trade something
that’s taking up space in my house? And, that’s how this Blog came into
existence.
What would
happen if the barter system still existed in this hi-tech world?
Would I
exchange a sofa set for a Korg keyboard?
An iPad for
TV or laptop… (Or it would be vice-versa)
4 wardrobes
for a bike… Does anyone own 4 wardrobes? (Would anyone do that?)
Flight
ticket in exchange of car! (Is it to much? Anyways, you can bargain)
An office
for house!
Books
instead of your electricity bill! (I’d love to do this)
A bagpack
for shoes!
What would
you get as your salary?
What would
you pay as your taxi fare?
How would you pay for your monthly ration?
How would the bargaining go?
How would the financial institutions work? (Would there be
any?)
